LEGO Icons “Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship” (10365) is a tribute to the on-screen vessel from Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean and a full-fledged interpretation of the iconic black ship, with a distinctly collector-focused character for adult LEGO fans and a display stand. The model combines a nostalgic feel with modern building techniques: the hull shape, imposing sterncastle, nine black sails with realistic weathering, and numerous decorative accents create a spectacular silhouette of the Black Pearl. It’s a “legendary ghost ship,” and the display options include a stand or “sailing mode” after separating the hull at the waterline.

When and where to buy the LEGO Black Pearl

Early access for LEGO Insiders starts on September 12, 2025 on LEGO.com, and sales for everyone begin on September 15, 2025 through the same distribution channels, effectively making the launch exclusive to LEGO stores. Additionally, from September 12–18, Insiders are offered the free “Captain Jack Sparrow’s Compass” (GWP) — limited in quantity.

Differences versus the old Black Pearl (LEGO 4184) from 2011

The new 2025 LEGO Black Pearl is several times more advanced: it has over 3.5 times more pieces, full fabric sails, expanded mechanisms, and a more faithful silhouette than LEGO 4184, which had 804 parts, simplified masts, and was criticized for scale and details compared to contemporary sailing ships. The number of minifigures also increased (from 6 to 8), print quality was improved, and display elements were added, bringing the new model in line with the Icons series. The new LEGO Black Pearl 10365 “overwhelms” the original LEGO 4184 in size and detail, from the hull geometry to the stern sections and broadside armament.

Who is the new Black Pearl for?

The model will appeal to adult collectors, Pirates of the Caribbean fans, and builders who value display models with a high level of realism. At the same time, the cannon and rudder mechanisms and modular deck sections offer satisfying play, which will also please older teens and families building larger models together. Additionally, the set may interest investors and fans of limited GWPs, especially during the Insiders launch window.

The design includes details of the captain’s cabin: furniture, candle holders, maps, and trinkets — the spirit of Sparrow’s “freedom” brought into the interior, with space for hidden treasures and cargo. The sails feature intentional “scuffs” and tears, enhancing the ghost‑ship vibe, and the long bowsprit with a mermaid figurehead provides a distinctive color accent against the black hull. The whole build can be displayed on an angled stand, emphasizing the Black Pearl’s dynamic lines in a display case or on a shelf.
